The process
Contact me to make an appointment and together we will create a fitting frame for your artwork or objects.
Choose from a selection of Mountboards, frame mouldings, glass and level of protection. I will order the materials required, cut all to size and construct a protective frame worthy of your artwork/ photos.
Materials and workmanship of Conservation grade and above.
If you can't commit to an appointment, please give me 30 minutes warning, so I can clear a workbench and put away 'sharp things'.
Mouldings
Choose your moulding frame for the exact size and design to match your artwork. With over 3000 examples and a selection in the studio, we can find what's right for you.
Glass
Ordinary glass is great for checking your hair and seeing what's behind you. Non reflective is a must for any frame, which comes with 70, 92 and 99% u/v protection. This will prevent light damage and colour fade.
Mountboard
Not just a frame enhancer, it keeps the artwork from touching the glass. 'Conservation' boards are free from acids and chemicals, which unlike ordinary boards, will not stain the artwork that 'old, yellow colour'.
Repairs
Harwich Museum entrusted me with 12 Mayoral Portraits, found in attics and cellars, form the area. A clean up, replacement of glass mountboards, repairs and waxing to frames, fantastic. My own little version of the Repair Shop.
